Special Sessions Offer Unique Opportunities at 2008 Employee Ownership Conference

On April 2-4, more than 150 presenters in the field of equity sharing and employee ownership will convene in Chicago to share their knowledge and expertise at the annual Beyster Institute/NCEO Employee Ownership Conference. Over the course of this three-day conference, there will be a myriad of special learning and networking opportunities with the most knowledgeable employee ownership leaders and experts in the country.

The first day of the conference offers a dynamic panel discussion featuring leaders from top employee-owned companies who will discuss the different strategies that have helped them become successful. Discussion will center on how companies can utilize the power of employee ownership for optimum results. This panel will be moderated by Ray Smilor, Executive Director of the Beyster Institute, and includes the following speakers:

  • Cecil Ursprung, President & CEO, Reflexite
  • Frieda Takaki, President & CEO, Chart Rehabilitation
  • Martin Babinec, President & CEO, TriNet

Another highly-engaging session, the Expert Roundtable Luncheon, is set for the second day of the conference. It aims to provide individuals a valuable opportunity to meet experts in their chosen field and discuss topics particular to their interest. Leading experts in this session include:

  • Kevin Long of Chang Ruthenberg & Long to discuss “Challenges as an ESOP Matures”
  • Neil Brozen of BNC National Bank to discuss “Minimizing Risk as an Internal ESOP Trustee”
  • Susan Lesser of PTCFO to discuss “Team Building and Communications”
  • Bill Gust of Corporate Capital Resources to discuss “Executive Compensation in Both Start-up and Mature ESOPs”
  • Brian Lehmer of Blue Ridge ESOP Associates to discuss “ESOP Diversification Procedures”

Additionally, conference participants can benefit from individualized one-on-one consultation sessions with expert consultants to discuss specific topics that may not be covered within the session tracks.

These special sessions, along with the nine break-out sessions per day, aim to foster new learning, ideas, and perspectives for creating and expanding conference participants’ overall experience in this year’s much-anticipated and fast-approaching conference in Chicago!
