Book reviews and order information

Do you understand what stock is and how stock options work? Or how stock value is created? Do you understand the tax, exercise, and financial planning issues for stock options? If you're like most people, at least some of these issues are perplexing for you. Until now, though, there has not been a book that puts this all together for the everyday employee. The Employee's Guide to Stock Options puts it all in one place in an easy-to-understand format.

Unless your employees are in finance or accounting, they probably have a lot of questions about the equity compensation they are offered - they should, anyway! Research shows that employee owners who understand the implications and potential of their ownership are much more likely to build strong companies and careers. Luckily, there's a great plain-language primer designed to help employee owners understand and make the most of equity compensation in its many forms. With the 2005 release of the fourth edition, Consider Your Options by Kaye Thomas remains relevant by taking the latest tax legislation into account. Although the book's third edition was printed just one year prior, important changes have taken place since then - most significantly the first comprehensive set of regulations covering incentive stock options. Other changes to this edition include additional discussion on increasingly popular restricted stock units, a new chapter on selecting and working with an advisor, and the removal or simplification of some of the most technical content.
