Ron Bernstein is Associate Director and CFO of the Beyster Institute, Rady School of Management, University of California at San Diego. Bernstein has counseled hundreds of companies in all stages of development on structuring employee ownership programs. Through his leadership of the organization's conferences, seminars and consultations, Bernstein has gained a national reputation as an authority on employee ownership and associated human relations areas of participative management, improved workplace performance and incentive systems.
As part of the organization's ongoing international efforts, Bernstein has played an active role in promoting employee ownership in the privatization process in Russia, Venezuela, Egypt, and other emerging countries. He was instrumental in the establishment of the U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship where he serves as its Treasurer and Secretary. He has hosted training programs for Russian business leaders to promote the transformation of former state-run enterprises to private ownership and viability in the new market economy. Prior to joining the organization, Bernstein worked for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as a Senior Tax Accountant and Manager of SAIC's retirement programs. Bernstein holds a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University and a Masters in taxation from Golden State University. |
